Don't Be Grounded by Weather: Conquer Clouds & Confidence with Your Instrument Rating

The next step in flight training is Instrument Rating. Unlike a Private Pilot License, the Instrument Rating allows you to use instruments to fly in difficult weather conditions when visual access may be challenging. This level of flying is under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR). An Instrument Rating provides flexibility regarding when you can fly (not just limited to good, clear weather) and is also a requirement for career pilots. Although advanced technology, such as autopilot, is often used in commercial aviation, professional airline pilots must also maintain currency in their instrument skills.
